Cosmetic colorants.
High-purity colorants are used. They meet the strictest EC requirements and may also be used near the eyes.
Two groups can be distinguished: organic colorants, made from compounds containing carbon,
and inorganic colorants, made from metal oxides and minerals.
In the past, many colorants had natural origins. Nowadays they are also made artificially, allowing a very high degree of purity to be achieved. The structure of the colorant remains consistent and it is often possible to use a more intense colour.
